Gucci Cruise 2019 by Glen Luchford
Video art director Christopher Simmonds
A story happened on Noah’s ark. I love the idea that get people of all classes together in a desperate situation. Every photography tells a story and has a strong narrative, such as building boats and water collection. And every figure has a clear character. Even a group of people laying on the sofa with animals suggest a strong concept of Hedonism.
I think the art director has played the sense of contrast effectively. Especially the combination of dressed up model and goats to create an unreal atmosphere.
I think the project makes people’s fear to be real, what are we going to be at the end of the world. Will all the artificial things look funny and meaningless in front of power of nature?

The character is a member of an anarchist gang trying to overthrow a royal dynasty. I love the contrast between bright orange styling and the pale background. And the styling put irrelated things together, which are fine gauze, boxing gloves and parts of suits. As one of the creators said, they designed opposing ideas and conflicting motives to show itself has an wide perspective. I think every element they choose represents different groups of people in the society, they work together, at mean time fight against each other.

She is a new money hacker helps the anarchist gang to overthrow the royal dynasty. Two guns are too tough and powerful, contrasted against fine gauze covering the model’s whole body, so the whole look is gender crossed. And the background is landscape of dying trees, which suggests the hacker’s situation in real society, they are hidden but powerful.
Vivian Maier
Portrait
These two photos reveal how Maier creates those unique angles in her works, holding the camera in front of her chest. What is so interesting about these two portraits is that she didn’t take pictures of herself directly, instead she stands in front of glass window/doors and use the reflection to create pictures. The way of capturing is unique and can create a random and rush urban sense.
I researched these looks to connect and emerge concept of my look book. Women in old Shanghai can be seen as a representation of male’s power. They usually lived a luxury life but needed to obey the rules that men created, and everything of them are belonged to their husband. It was men who make the definition of beauty and everything. The fact was they lived for men and if they broke the rules set by men, their status, heritage, beauty would be deprived by men.
Soulmate
I find this serious of photographs are quite interesting to create identities for pair of figures. The subject is "soulmate" it is conveyed by recording 2 figures being together and doing same things with each other with same emotions. They stand next to each other in all the photos and by which people can see a strong, close relationship between the figures.
Thom Browne Eyewear Fall 2018
The identity applied to the model is so vivid that i sense some kind of black humorous in them. I like the idea of following the figure and record her look in different locations and situation. In the first picture, we can get her serious identity when she's at work. And in the second picture, it shows her look when she's at home, still serious and sitting straight. Sitting beside her puppy is quite interesting, because there's a contrast created between her serious action and the suggesting of being relaxed. The third is my favourite one. The wind blows up her dress and she covers her dress without any expressions.

Time and Money by Gary Cross
Gary Cross explains theories of mass consumerism focusing on Mass-production. This makes me think that i can imply forms of mass-production to edit my photos.
Andy Warhol
Inspired by Andy Warhol's work, I can use ways of repeating images many times to create a large poster. Repeating is a represent way in mass production, by which i can strengthen my idea of being a person without self-identity in a consuming society.
