I like the way the artist use to express a sense of movement. Using blur strokes (maybe by charcoal) on the joint part of the two people, so it’s like 2 people dissolve together. I like the strokes on the back of the figure, which are like scratches. It do add some intensity to the whole narrative.
There are some clear lines describing the shape of the female figure, I think they help to tell the story effectively.

It tells a story of a man killing himself, which is a depressive and dark topic. I love how the artist crops the image and use it to describe a narrative that becomes more and more intensive. Lights and shadows worked effectively in the second and the fifth picture. The point of view in the second image is looking up to the character, the darkness on his face shows some identity of the character and make him more vivid. He is out of his mind and decides to shoot himself madly.

I’m interested in this work mainly because the artist has played light and shadows very well. Black figures tell us where the light comes from and create a dark, mystery narrative. Also, the angle and the direction of the light make me curious about what is going to happen next.

This photograph used lots of dark area effectively, which also give the figure on the path more focus. It seems a lonely path because everything around the path is unknown. I also like the texture on the road, it’s broken and because the figure is holding an umbrella, it looks wet and cold as well.
I like how the artist plays with black and white effectively. Especially in the last picture, figures behind the glass windows are washy and blur. And there are some bright parts on the window, which let me imagine that some sunlight falls down on the window and the reflection it created. So i think the change of colours do help tell the viewers where it is and what is happening.
